Day 2 - School day + University of Saskatchewan
Day 2
16/7/2026
Lakeview Church → University of Saskatchewan
The first two days were full of productivity and adventure. After a great sleep, we woke up early and had a delectable breakfast of scrambled eggs and golden brown toast. After eating the breakfast, we packed our bags and headed to Lakeview Church for an entertaining lesson. We have done speaking, reading, and writing there. Our teacher, Mr. Larson, taught us an old but well-known play: The Miracle Worker which is about Helen Keller. We even snapped a few photos for our upcoming video project before getting our lunch!
We played a game called Sensory Deprivation during the lesson. We can only use our body language to explain the word that we read to our partners, and they had to draw out the picture. During the break, we played card games and table football with our teachers. Some of us even played Switch!! After the class, the adventure in the University of Saskatchewan began.
Exploring the fascinating campus classrooms felt like a discovery mission, especially when we came across the massive fossil displays. We also visited the ice rink for the Husky too! That is so amazing! Another highlight was the chemistry lecture hall; the stairs leading down were incredibly steep, but what really made the room special was the ceiling, which was covered in countless paper airplanes. It left us all wondering exactly how the students managed to get them up there!
At the end of the day, I kept thinking of what a perfect start this was to our Saskatoon study tour. I look forward to exploring more wonderful places and activities in this city!
