Day 9 School Day+ Dreamcatcher workshop

Day 9

Today was Day 9 of being in Saskatoon. We woke up at 7:30 and had cereal and bread for breakfast. After breakfast, we went to Lakeview Church for our English lesson.

During the lesson, we even played a murder mystery game. In pairs, we worked on clues to figure out who the real murderer was. Alysha and Vicky won the game! They have such detective minds!



After the English lesson, it was lunchtime. I had a sandwich and fries for lunch. After lunch, we had a Dreamcatcher Workshop with Ms. McDonald. Dreamcatchers are knitting craft work first invented by the First Nation to trap bad dreams!










At first, I thought it would be easy—anyone with hands could do it. But the workshop gave me a surprise. The truth is, I’ve learned how to do it by watching, but I haven’t learned it by doing. Luckily, good news: I knew how to make it. Bad news: my dreamcatcher was very ugly.




After the workshop, we went home, and our dinner was McDonald’s. Today was a happy day!

Day 1 15/7/2026 Hong Kong==> Vancouver International Airport (YVR)==> Saskatoon Today was our travel day. We first flew from Hong Kong to Vancouver, a 12-hour flight.  The flight wasn’t bumpy, and we managed to take a few naps and watch some movies, such as F1 and Breaking Bad . It was our first long-haul flight, but luckily it wasn’t too hard for us.  Because of a flight delay in Hong Kong, we missed our connecting flight to Saskatoon, so we spent another five hours at the airport before finally arriving in Saskatoon after a two-hour flight.  While waiting for our connecting flight, we even watched the World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina. It was an exciting match. If it weren’t for the delay, we might not have had the chance to watch this breathtaking game. Day 3- School day + National flag football +Summer Barn Dance

Day 3 17/7/2026 Today was Day 3 of being in Saskatoon. We woke up early and had cereal for breakfast. I also got to try churro-flavoured Pop-Tarts. After breakfast, we packed our lunch and headed to Lakeview Church for another English lesson. We watched part of a play about The Miracle Worker . After that, we wrote a paragraph about describing our favourite place using descriptive writing. Then we had lunch. For lunch, I had a sandwich, a small croissant, an orange, and a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. After lunch, we went to a park to play National flag football. Mr. David’s sons even came to play with us. They were great coaches, and we learned how to play defense and goal during a match.    After the game, we stopped by a souvenir shop called SaskMade for some locally produced products for souvenirs.  Next came dinner, which was, yes, a delicious pizza! Day 15 School day +award ceremony + basketball game

 Day 15 30/7/2026 We ate cereal for breakfast and headed to Lakeview Church for our final English lesson. We finished The Miracle Worker and then played some mini-games like charades. We even got worm candies as reward! For lunch, I ate lasagna. After that, we went to Mr. David’s house. We played backyard games such as Washer Toss and KanJam. Next, we started our award ceremony in the living room. We watched everyone’s video presentation, and each person received a certificate for joining the English Study Program. Three of us—including me—also received an additional certificate. I was very shocked when I won the “Awesome Attitude Award.” Camilia also received the Best Effort Award , and Dora received the Best Speaking Efficiency Award , respectively. When we got home, we ate supper: mac and cheese and poutine. After supper, at 6:30 PM, we drove to the SaskTel Centre to watch a professional basketball game.
